Senior Software Engineer

  • Create and modify code and correct errors in software by making appropriate changes.
  • Test the programs to ensure that the desired results are produced.
  • Work as a programmer and as a software architect using computer science and engineering skills to solve problems at a high level. Write, analyze, review and rewrite programs according to technical specifications.
  • Work with databases, perform optimizations and performance tuning, and conduct trial runs of programs and software applications to ensure the software is performing correctly.
  • Use PHP, MySQL, JavaScript and other software development language skills to write, update and maintain programs and software packages to handle specific jobs.
  • Test programs and software to increase operating efficiency and their adaptation to new requirements.
  • Perform system analysis and control the use of computer systems software as a systems programmer.
  • Consult with other team members to define and resolve problems in running computer programs and software.


  • The position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Programmer, or related technical occupation.
  • The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Programmer, or related technical occupation in lieu of a Master’s degree plus three (3) years of experience.
  • The position requires at least one (1) year of experience in all of the following: Experience in the medical or healthcare IT industry; software engineering; web-based technology; experience writing technical and functional specs; understanding of databases; database optimizations; performance tuning; PHP; MySQL; JavaScript; C; and Object Oriented Programming languages such as C++, C#, or .NET.
